Little man has a cough this morning. So that should add an interesting twist to the weekend. Boxes, moving supplies, an office party and a child with a cold.
A little over a week to go until we get the new house. Wowsers. When we first looked at it, the external walls were barely up, and the insulation hadn’t even been installed. 2 Months later, and the only things left are the plumber and the final county inspection.
I’m kinda sad ad leaving the old house – I mean, it’s our first house, Raymond has spent all his life there to date (almost 2 1/2 years!) and we’re comfortable. But the new place is gonna be so nice – lots more space, a garage, and close to a grocery store. Not to mention a big enough attic that should we ever have another child, we can build an office up there.
Of course, Mom isn’t very happy with this, since we’re actually moving further away from her house – a whopping 5 miles more.
The big worry is how will Ray handle the move – the cats will adjust, I’m excited, Renee is beside herself…but this could be really disconcerting for him – a new room, a new house, a different route to day care… Maybe I should read up on the subject of moving toddlers. Or just go with the flow. he’s a good kid, I know he’ll adapt. The question in my mind is, how long will it take? And how bad could it be?
Only one way to find out….
