Code Fugue: a state where I forget everything except the sounds going in my ears and the code coming out of my fingers. It’s a state I try to hit every day, but have been distracted lately.
Where has my copy of Brian Eno’s Music for Airports gone where I could use it?
I’ve been jamming to ambient/techno/assorted mellow stuff in a haze of coding all night. Since I can’t find Music for Airports I’ve plugged in Thick as a Brick instead. Thick as a Brick is, IMHO, not to shabby for this sort of thing, Considering most of it is really well orchestrated – one of the things I’ve always liked about Jethro Tull.
I need more ambient.
I need more classic (i.e. pre-industrial) techno (read: Only for the Headstrong era stuff)
I need more Moby (Play is great for this soft of mood, and it’s a wicked cool CD anyway, but I could also go for Next is the E as well as stuff from his first CD)
I need some sleep.
Try Delerium…Karma for the more etherial stuff, Morpheus for a more synth-pop sound. It will put you in a state for sure!
