Got back from my next-to-last Cary run for this week (only 6 more left until I don’t have to do this any more!) to drop Ray off at day care. He was mad at me, so pretty much didn’t want me to hang about, and so no prying him off me this am.
10am – Got home, settled in to get started for the day.
10:15 – Renee informs me she wants to mow, and needs me to start the mower. No problem. Oh, wait, she wants to mow the front 1/2 acre, which is all grass, and about a acre away from the house (we have about 3 total). No problem. Get out the mower, drag it up to the road (we have a push mower) and start it. Head back to house.
10:30 – start looking at code again
10:45 – Renee returns, asking me to come start the mower again. Apparently she already restarted it 4 times, and needed me to start it for her. Walk to mower, look at what she’s done so far, consider how many times she already had top restart it, and mowed it myself. Nearly stalled at least 6 more times, had to restart it five more times.
11:15am – get back to house, consider that 1/2 hour labor saved myself 2 hours of constant interruptions, and call the morning a loss – again.
This week has been full of shit like this, and the only time I’ve been really productive this week was Tuesday, and even then I didn’t really start working until 12:30/1.
I think I’ll go into the Chapel Hill office a lot next week.
