Did I mention I love my wireless setup at home? If the office ever wants this airport back, I’m buying my own for sure.

speaking of which, is there a change in range between peer-to-peer and a setup with a access point? I have a “marginal” (as per orinoco link test) link between by laptop with the gold card from my downstairs bedroom on one side of the house to the router peer with another gold card upstairs and on the opposite side of the house. It’s a tad flaky but usu. works ok. If the access point would upgrade it to a “stable” (or whatever it’s called) connection, it’d be worth it :)
I have no idea. Remember that things like how your house is constructed will determine how the signal flows. Anything that gives even minor RF interference is libel to hurt the signal – and the higher the speed, the more susceptable to RF and similar interference it is. That and you get a shorter range at higher speeds.
I’m sure the base station, in a central part of my house, helps a bunch. If I were to have to go back to peer-to-peer (which I can) I’d buy the external antenae for the server’s card, just to get the boost out of it.
