Sick, source, and something

Ray has a fever. He’s grumpy, tired, and pissy. Without Motrin. With motrin he sleeps. Gonna be a long night, I think.

I’ve been splitting my time between him and an RPM I’ve been trying to generate for a week or so – a single source to build both angband and a apw borg enabled angband.

if you don’t know what angband is, go here. I’ve never finished the game, let alone got very far, but I like running auto-players and seeing how far they get. I find them rather soothing to watch, for some reason….

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Oh what a flash back. I can’t tell you how many hours, days, months Doug and I dedicated to this game. Neither of us actually killed Morogoth – so we never finished the game. But, oh what an obsession. Now that you’ve shown us back to it (it’s been years since we played) we may get hooked again… hmmm. (bookmarking page.)

Hehe. Give me a day or two to get the RPMS working properly, *THEN* try it again. I’m packaging it with a borg binary so that you can let it go to level, say, 40 for you, and then you can dive for the hard stuff without all the tedium of levels 1-35 over and over and over again *grin*

But I seem to be missing something, since the rpm’ed versions don’t save….grrr.

Hmmm…. keep me up to date!

I think all I need is one more patch to fix the save issue, and it’s good. Then I’ll put them up in one of my webspaces.

Hrm. Where to put my RPMS – trilug, darkcanvas, or webslingerZ…..

In case you missed it, uploaded to http://www.darkcanvas.com/~alchemist/angband_rpms/

Score file is busted, I’ll need to fix that, but otherwise, it’s good.

There’s a new productivity killer for Doug at work!
