the job search

Hmm. Seems someone passed my name over to a recruiter. I dunno if this has anything to do with the 3 resumes I sent out or not. But that’s not quite the important bit – the important bit is that it’s circulating and people are interested….

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Might have been me. I passed your name and the link to your resume after seeing your post about sending some out. Sorry if I overstepped…

Ah-ha! I suspected as much. She left the refer’s name, as well as her own, and they both seemed strangely familiar. If it works out, I owe you lunch, or do you get the kick-back for the referal? *grin*

  3. revbones says:

    Lol, no kickbacks unfortunately.

I was going to pass it to 2 more that I use, if that’s cool with you. I normally ask first, but since you were looking and I was in the midst of an email to her anyway I passed your info on.

  4. alchemist says:

Fine by me. email is typically a faster means of reaching me, if they care to use that instead.

I’m sending out resumes like a mad dog myself. Posting them on job search boards, Monster, every bloody thing, asking ppl in the Charlotte goth scene if they know any contacts, going bonkers. In order to move to Charlotte, I have to have a job offer…no landlord is going to rent to an unemployed freak.

And I’m (shudder) shopping for conventional clothing for said job. I might get lucky, but most jobs don’t want you showing up in goth. Man, I feel like an alien, passing for normal.

    I’m a corporate whore. *sob*
