And I’ve still not gotten word on exactly when paychecks come in. It’s related to a particular client paying us, and the check is supposedly “in the mail.”
This means that more than likely, I’m going to have to raid my newly rebuilt savings to cover the mortgage in time, not to mention the rest of the bills. Which is where the truck fixing money is likely to come from as well.
I did get a call from a headhunter who had a job at about the right $$ amount in Raleigh. It was frozen/filled before the day was out, but he’s hopeful about the future *grin* He’s my first cold-call recruiter, and I expect more. At least this sounded like a company I would like working for, although I really dread leaving wZ. But I gotta do what i gotta do. And let me be honest – the figure he was throwing about would have more than fixed the finances for a while. It would have put us back in the pre-Renee-layoff category.
Anyway, my goal is one job applied to per day, until either wZ gets their shit together or I get another job. So far, so good.
Maybe wZ can save some money by cutting back on their NPR sponsorship.. :)
You know about Mason, right? If not, get with me over email :)
We actually pay for that in service and not cash on the barrelhead. As it stands, they owe us, and are still catching up *grin*
No, and I’ll send a reminder right now. Oh, wait – this is a reminder, ya? *grin*
good luck. :)
/me twiddles his thumbs waiting on kevin to get back to IM :)
