Epiphany

So I’m completely and totally in the crapper, mood wise yesterday. I mean, sure, my normally *HUGE* ego needs a deflating every so often, but man, it’s a battered, bruised, beaten mess right now.

And then, thinking about it, I realized something. In the last few weeks, I’ve been told (repeatedly) that :

– I irritate her
– the baby irritates her when he doesn’t want to go to sleep
– my parents irritate her (in general)
– Ray irritates her when he doesn’t listen
– my driving irritates her
– her nearly-broken foot irritates her
– the cats irritate her
– her impending head-cold irritates her
– the neighbors mowing the filed that’s our property (but adjacent to their property) irritates her (even though I said they could, and since all we have is a push mower…)
– the weather irritates her
– my driving irritates her
– my going to hockey games irritates her
– her parents spoiling Ray irritates her
– the insurance company irritates her (I get to hear this one daily)
– my job situation irritates her (ditto)

Y’know, I’m seeing a trend here.

And so, I’ll address the things I can, but keep in mind that, hey, I’m not perfect. And apparently she’s just easily annoyed right now. I should get a little bent out of shape, but damn, beating myself over the head and being a mopey bitch isn’t going to help. Thank the gods for “That’s Nice” and “Yes Dear”

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

You know that everyone has those times in life when everything is an aggravation… You’ve had them too. It shall pass I swear :) Until then *hugs* and *mellow vibes* your way.

Look up “dysthymia” and see if any of the other characteristics fit.

The two year time period doesn’t fit. However, I’m sure it’s related to PPD. I’m tyring *REALLY* hard not to say anything about it, though, because if I ask her about it, I’m sure to get landblasted.

I’ve been thinking PPD for about two days, but have to find a better way to broach the subject than she’s been doing with me…
