Random ramblings

I’m home, and trying to relax, although being home has it’s own set of stresses *grin*

GAIM didn’t exit cleanly when I left work, so Renee thought I was still online. oops. That was almost a sleeping in the truck moment.

Ray and Jacob were both playful when i got home, but Ray less so since he had preschool today. Jacob was really tired. But we had fun.

Mike J from the LUG came by and pick up the stuff. Had a few offers to help with that – thanks everyone.

I modified the chanbot for #trilug (is this a proper irc URL??) to dance on command, and continued my group scheduling investigations. has Aurora Linux, and I have that last not-quite-replaceable-yet feature of exchange server to figure out.

After that I’ve got some Go packages I want finish, then to get added to people at some point. And there’s my RHCE, which I can’t get tested on until October anyway.

Discovered some people I knew but didn’t know had LJ had added me to their friend’s lists. Which was cool, so I added them. Spent some time hacking at my Friends List layout to make it more, well, friendly for me. The one I was using didn’t play nice with less than 1024×768 window sizes.

Now the cat is meowing at me, and my eyes itch. Time to take out my contacts and see if it’s time to sleep or FF Tactics.

And a sushi lunch tomorrow! Sushi Blues, Sushi Thai, Sushi Tsune, or the place at Crossroads? Decisions, Decisions….

Note: I screwed up and half-posted this, so I had to delete that entry and repost. So if you saw an incomplete entry earlier, sorry.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Hey, I did say “people I know, but didn’t know they had LJ” and you fall into that category. Kinda like *grin*

Although until I caught up on your journal, I wasn’t sure if it was you or a becca I knew way back in the day…

  5. alchemist says:

Yeah – I was just going to ask about the UTI relief stuff for Mrs. A. Nothing earth shaking *grin*.

And I think I committed to lunch with Doug when he gets home….

  6. beccaj says:

I hope you had a nice weekend. Who’s ? Does he work with us too?

If it makes you feel weird that a work person watches your lj, just let me know.

  7. alchemist says:

You forgot the “_” on the end of – “ – and that’s Peter in RHN devel.

Naw, I don’t mind. I’ll just be careful with the securtity settings in case there’s thing you *REALLY* don’t want to know about *grin*

  8. beccaj says:

I know. I try not to talk ish about work at all, but I always go back and check my entries when I encounter a new work friend online. :)

As for me, what I see on LJ stays on LJ. No worries.
