Made it home in one piece about an hour after I left work. Things didn’t get bad until I got close to Pittsboro – namely the stoplight on 64 West after the lake. That was where I slid the first time.

At the next stop, after a few other minor slips, I moved it into 4wd and took it *SLOW*. Thankfully, it was still snow, so 4WD was do-able.

Family, dinner, play. Fixed the VPN problem on my home computer. Everything outside looks like it’s bene glazed.

let’s hope the power stays on.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Good luck to you guys. Half my cable channels disappeared and the lights have flickered a couple times in the last hour, but otherwise things are calm and cozy here in N Raleigh.

I left around lunchtime today, sent stuff to my home email and have been working from here. Plan to do the same tomorrow. I can’t compile anything, but since I write such flawless code, it’s no biggie to do it blind. LOL
