Is that for the brine, or have you got something sinister going on?
Sinister involves more massive quantities. Or at least that’s what I’ve read, I wouldn’t know about such things.
Yeah – 2.5 gallons fo water, 2 cups kosher salt, 1 cup sugar, one head garlic, peeled (but not handled otherwise), three tablespoons dried thyme, two bay leaves, five whole allspice berries (crushed), four cranberries (crushed).
It smells *REALLY* good this morning. And it’s still warm from last night.
Very true. Although given the size of this new cookpot, there are some interesting possibilities…..
more time than .5 gallons on 5 burners that you dump into the big container once they’re all boiling. Course, it’s more dangerous too, but isn’t that the fun part? :)
uh, no, the fun part was pouring 2.5 gallons of brine into a poultry bag w/out spilling any. *grin*
