Well the con was interesting. I can’t wait for the costume pics to start hitting the web.

Overall: The addition of Kenshin to Cartoon Network appears to have made a direct impact. Lots of Sano cosplayers this year. A great Majin Buu costume.

The dealers room reflected that Narutu, One Piece, and Chobits are popular/will be more popular.

I walked out with some new cels (three Here and There,Now and Then as well as a Nightwalker cel) an Escaflowne Wallscroll (which I’ll be taking to work, I think), the Wolf’s Rain OST, Ayumi Hamasaki’s Ballads CD, and plenty of Hikaru no Go odds and ends.

I also saw the COUp folks, met again, and had a moment to talk briefly with Phil.

A very relaxing (if not expensive) time was had. And this year I remembered to pre-register for *NEXT* year while I was at the con. By then we shoudl be able to get babysitters for both kids…

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Wow, can’t believe you spent a whole day there and I completely missed you.

I didn’t spend the whol eday – just a good chunk of the afternoon.

I was buzzing arround in my FF7 t-shirt and zebra chucks. About all I got to see were the costumes, the dealer’s room and the game room. Next year I want to stay for cosplay. Hell, next year (Red Hat Inc. willing) I may take enough time off to go for all three days, and do more than spend in an orgy of consumerism.

I did have my eye out for your bald head, but I missed it unless (a) you’ve been letting it grow or (b) you wore a hat *grin*.
