The other strange thing is…

The beach trip is giving me a “transition” vibe – that it’s today or tomorrow marks the end of some stage, and this upcomming week is the gap between the begining of something else. Maybe it’s my mindset. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m taking a VACATION (*gasp*) for the first time in two years.

Maybe, just maybe, it’s something else.

24 hours until it’s time to shut down and finish packing. 27+/- hours until we leave. I’m getting excited.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

I’m suprised that you were able to take a week off this soon after being hired.

Oh wait, RH isn’t a shitty company. Nevermind.

Dude, it’ll be a year imn August. I also started accruing time off the day I started – a half day per pay period.

no, I don’t work for a shitty company *grin*

Yeah I *finally* got 40 hrs of vacation at one year with my company. It doesn’t accrue. Just 40 hrs flat.

    It’s been that long?

Then again, I realized I’ve been there over two years now

    One year on August 19th.

Sure seems shorter, for some reason…

I think working somewhere you like speeds up the clock.
