Over the river and through the woods…

Since we’re going camping later this month, it’s time to break down and actually get the tents and sleepings bags and such that we need.

We’re gonna do that this afternoon and then go to my ‘rents’ for dinner.

The concern I have is that we want one of the multi-room family tents for family camping, which is fine, but we also need a 2-ish man tent for trips I’ll be taking as a leader later (OA trips, Woodbadge – yes, I’m gonna take Woodbadge, I just haven’t decided when yet).

Then we need sleeping bags. And pads. And a stove. And a tent liner/tarp.

No cookware this time – I’ll just take a box of stuff we have here that can go with.

Hmm. The cooler is in pitiful shape. Need one of those. And one just for water/drinks. And some small day-packs for me and the boy(s).

And rain gear. And personal water bottles (no, I suppose I can’t take the Thee Dollhouse [NFSW] water bottle a friend gave me, can I?)

The list just keeps going. I hope I remember everything. And yes, I will be writing it down…

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.
