Mac madness, or on being a grown up

So I’ve pretty much decided I want a Mac laptop. And have spent the last two weeks looking and comparing and drooling. And I’m going to get one.

But not right now. I had really wanted to pick it up before we travel this summer. And then, looking at the bills, the savings (what savings?), and the other things I want to do in the next year or so, I realized that the Mac has to take a back seat for a while.

I’ve got the company laptop, and it does what I need a laptop for. The only thing the Mac can do, really, that the linux laptop can’t (right now) is World of Warcraf, and I suppose buying a laptop so I can play a game on it *IS* a bit much.

To make a long story short, I’m being a grown up. I may even get to like it. *smirk*

(And anyway, if I pass on the Mac now, I can get a deal later. *AND* get the ink I want sooner. Or at least some of the ink I want sooner….)

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Are you on WoW yet? Doug and I play (me on my Mac laptop :) ) on the lightbringer server…

I’ve been playing WoW on Zul’Jin since Release day. My primary is an Undead priest, and I’ve got a pretty good guild to hang with.

I thin I’ve got a character on Lightbringer I sometimes play when Zul’Jin is down, but it’s been a LONG time since I did. My other alternate chars are on Zul’Jin, and sooner or later I suppose I should put some time into an Alliance character…

My main is an undead priest as well, she’s level 50 now :)

I also have a 12 rogue that I never play (troll) and an undead warlock that I’m bringing up (15).

I have one Alliance character on Lightning’s Blade, she’s a 15 Paladin. But I think you tend to stick with the side you start with :)
