Day Off

Since I finished my allotted 40 hours yesterday thanks to pager duty, I took today off on the flex schedule. So after decimating some Orks and some Space Marines in DoW with and 3 beers I passed out…and got to sleep until 9:30-ish. To quote :

This is by far the latest I’ve been allowed to sleep in MONTHS. I then hung out all day doing jack and shit, reading email, playing video games, grocery shopping (we ran out of milk and diapers, and had one beer left), and generally being lazy. The it was off to meet my Aunt & Uncle at Mom & Dad’s for dinner. The kids were EXCEPTIONALLY good at the eattery. [1] Then back to Mom & Dad’s to chill until after desert and now back home. Took the dog out and got to catalog yet another wild animal resident on my property…An opossum was on the porch when I took the dog out. I’m not sure who was more confused – it or the dog. [2] Either way, the list gets longer every day. I wonder where the snake is?

And now, with a beer in my belly, and everyone asleep except me, it’s time to consider passing out.

[1] The TGIFriday’s at Kildare and Tryon has someone who strongly resembles with longer hair working there.
[2] New animal means something new to try to herd, and now he’s going to have to check that side of the porch for it EVERY TIME we go out for a while.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.
