Went roller skating with the Cubs on Sunday. Been a long time since I roller skated, and today I pay the price. In the one and only time I fell, it was avoiding a fallen child.

Today, Muscles I forgot I had hurt.

Work today was work, and tomorrow will be…interesting. Lots to do in the next 72 hours.

Oh, and I’ll be manning Alchemy Glow at Kulture on Saturday.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

That’s why old people like us aren’t supposed to go roller skating.

Our youth minister’s wife seriously injured her knee roller skating at a youth event a few months ago. She twisted it badly and was on crutches for weeks. She’s 28. If that can happen to someone fresh and young like that, then geezers like us have no chance.

Someone has to set the example. If the kids see me having fun, they have more fun.

Learship in kids programs for 10 & under are very much hands-on activities. They don’t respond well to lectures. Can;t be comepletely fearless, but I am learning when being stupid looks brave, and being brave is stupid *grin*…
