Only one left…

yeah, I’m devouring Firefly like I devour a good book. The two episodes I just watched never aired, and that’s a damn shame.

The Message – I notice the writing gets better as we get towards the end of the series. This is the point where I realized what the hoopla about the cancellation was all about. And you had to wait for the DVD for this one? The ending about had me in tears. I mean, damn.

Heart of Gold – OK , I love Jayne again. And I hate myself for it. but this has some great Jayne moments. And another downer of an ending, but oh so well done. This one digs DEEP into the Inara and Mal characters. Just…WOW.

One to go and then the movie. Something to look forward to for tomorrow…

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

I watched them resently, and I think “Heart of Gold” may be my favorite episode. I love Inara and Mal, and wish that had all turned out differently.

Did you hear that the reason it bombed was that it was aired out of order? The series is rather complicated & confusing (because it’s so different) and the fact that they aired it out of order made it so that no one got hooked. Aparently when they re-aired it as reruns they did the same thing! Check out the box, it shows the screwed up air dates. I’m just hoping they decide to give it a try again!

I second that. I actually tried to watch the “pilot” (Train Job) when it aired and hated it. Then I was made to watch the DVDs and realized that what I’d seen and hated wasn’t even remotely the real introduction to the series, and that it was no wonder I didn’t care about the characters and wound up all confused.

Also, IIRC, they kept changing the night of the week, so it was nearly impossible to watch it it if you wanted to.

Stupid networks. *fires Vera at them*

You have way too much time on your hands,
    don’t worry, I won’t tell Renee.
House is due to close Dec 13th. Let’s hope so. My temp job runs Nov 27th – Dec 15th which is perfect since I can get my two classes for my CPA in the 19th and 20th in Ashville, which is just an hour away from here. No time for tv, unless it’s dvr murder she wrote, poirot or sherlock holmes. Yah, I know. sad.

I still have to watch the movie. But yeah, once I started ripping it and saw the first episode, I couldn’t NOT watch, you know?

Thanks for the resources. I’ve got a rescue in N Raleigh I’m working on with a friend, and thee will be extra helpful.
