Tuesday update

After finding Nikki’s hiding place, I decided last night to try to entice her out with food.

No dice, and I have the scratches to prove it. She’s feisty still.

So tonight I had to lift up a dresser and extract her from her hiding place, and move her back to the bathroom. She’s currently under the toilet. And still defensive, but she’s a lot better than she was.

She loves her ear and chin scratches, but you can’t go fast, and you can’t surprise her. Hopefully I can keep her in there this time and get her socialized a little more. She also has her vet followup this week, for the last of her shots.

Looks like she’s gonna be staying here, ’cause I can’t give her up. *grin*

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

I’m supposed to meet our mutual friend for dinner tomorrow night up in your area. She is supposed to give me a time and place tomorrow morning which I’ll then let you know. If you can make it, great, if not then anotehr time.

    I’m sure she’ll come around.

One of my ex’s had a cat that stayed in hiding for almost six months when she first got him. Now he’s one of the sweetest cats you’ve ever seen.

We may be losing ours :(
Though I’m starting to get upset that the son hasn’t called me back… if neither the son nor the daughter call by tomorrow night I think we’ll call the mother and tell her we get the impression they don’t really care. (See my post from today if you don’t know WTF I’m talking about…)

I’m meeting J at the Texas Steakhouse on Airport Blvd (not to be confused with Aviation Pkwy), technically in Morrisville at 5:45 tonight. Come along if you like.

Wanna make friends with her real fast?

    Buy a live catnip plant.

    That’s something I haven’t tried yet. Hmmm.

Now how do I keep the other two cats out of it?

  8. alchemist says:

But in the end you got to keep her, so Huzzah!
