What a weekend

Let’s see…Spent Friday & Saturday at FUDCon 2008 representing percolate.tv (formerly known as “Secret Project”), and got a generally good response from everyone I talked to about what it is, our goals, and where we want to go with it.

As is my custom, Dad and I went to see the Hockey Game on Saturday night for my Birthday (which was Friday – thanks to EVERYONE for the birthday wishes). Unfortunately, the ‘Canes don’t have the stamina or depth right now to hold a 4-2 lead, which SUCKS. Cam Ward stood on his head, and without him, it might have been a 4-8 game instead of 4-5. Hopefully the all-star break will help the ‘Canes get back into the run.

Today was gracepoint, lunch with some of that crew, building R’s first Warhammer 40K Dreadnaught, and a NAP, which I really, really needed, since I’m working tonight.

Tomorrow I plan on sleeping late, working on my code a whole bunch, and catching up on some housecleaning. We’ll see what actually gets done.

Also, tomorrow night I will be celebrating my birthday at the club, so be warned! (And be there if you want to say…buy me a drink? *grin*)

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

You better be putting together a squad of terminators to go with that dreadnaught!

He’s building a Salamanders Army, starting with a Fast-attack Jump Squad and the Dread. I’m working on a Squad of Raven Guard marines and a Chaplain for them.

We’ll get to terminators for him soon enough – got a long way to go before his (and my) Chapters are complete. *grin*

Haha, that’s awesome. I played only for a short time, but I kept my dark angel army that I made because I had so much fun painting them. I think I have about 1000 points worth of a force!

That’s the part I’m getting into – the building and the painting. It’s very therapeutic. He likes the idea of blowing stuff up, so for him, playing is the thing – although it’ll be fun to see him paint his first marine this coming weekend. *grin*

I’m going to try to stop by the club. :)

    Happy Belated Birthday!

Just remember: You’re ONLY 37. GOD. I’d kill to be that age again. Yes, be happy you’re NOT fast approaching the mid-century mark.
