Review: Indiana Jones 4

Fun? Somewhat. But at one point, I leaned over to and said “Well, they just Jumped the Shark”

And that’s about all I can say about the plot. I mean, really. So I’ll talk about the performances instead.

Shia LeBeouf? He’s the Keanu Reeves of this generation, and only seems to play, well, Shia LeBeouf.
Cate Blanchett? The accent was unconvincing.

John Hurt? Excellent as always. He gets such fun characters to play.
Karen Allen? Actually, one of the best acting jobs in the bunch.
But what about Harrison Ford? He made up for poor writing and directing. Thank God he’s got the skills to make even a mediocre movie worth watching.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Indeed…. the ending was just… NOT Indy to me. Just too … Um… yeah.

, on the other hand, didn’t see a whole lot wrong with it. Go figure.

Wow… I seem to be firmly in the minority, having really liked it. My expectations must have beeen REALLY low. :)

    Thanks for the review,dude.

We don’t get out to the big screen much but did go see Iron Man last week and we loved it!!

I looooved the first 3/4. It was just the ending that seemed… just *not* Indiana Jones like to me.

I guess I like the anthropology and archeology aspects as much as the action/adventure, and this just left me feeling like it was a cop-out on the science side.

At least Keanu Reeves is *pretty*. Shia is just a giant goober.

I’ll agree with the 3/4th as long as you take out the pointless interrogation scene after the refrigerator bit. Can anyone please explain WTF that whole bit was about? Is there some subplot left on the cutting room floor that makes that scene relevant?

I’m sure we’ll find out when the Extended Edition DVD with Deleted Scenes and all the stuff hits the shelves.

you mean the one where indy aims the gun^Wwalkie-talkie at the russians^Wewoks only to have the gun^Wwalkie-talkie jam^Wreceive a message from jar-jar? boy I can’t wait for that edition (word is they use his original vision for the aliens who look like jaba the hut and shia learns to use the force)
