A time to chill

It’s the first Wednesday, and a friend is having his monthly drinks night tonight. We find ourselves with a little time to kill beforehand after a sushi dinner (Kashin, Cary – I love the place and the chef is very cool), so we’ve camped out in the nearby Starbuck’s for some chill time.

I’ve been busy with more than my audio projects lately, between trips and kids and all that? Not just with work, but work is a big part of it. So it’s nice to have a moment in a coffee shop, watching people.

I miss it. I suppose that is the thing I miss most from our trip in Feb – just hanging out and being part of the scenery as the rest of the world passes by. A spectator for a while, in this grand world, with nothing more to do than watch.

After drinks tonight, I’ll go back to the hullabaloo that is outlive, but for now, I’m content to observe, and knock out this unremarkable post, and just be a witness to this spectacular thing we call life.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.
